Change Home or Work Address in Google Maps

    Open Google Maps and tap your profile photo

    Tap your profile picture or initial in the top right corner of the Google Maps home screen.

    Tap Settings → Edit home or work

    Select Settings from the menu. Scroll to find Edit home or work. Alternatively, some versions show these directly in your profile options without going through Settings.

    Tap Home → enter your new address

    Tap Home (or Work). Delete the existing address and type your new one. Select the correct result from the dropdown list of suggestions. Tap Save.

Alternative Method — Via the Search Bar

    Search for your new address

    Type your new home address in the Google Maps search bar and select the correct result.

    Tap the three dots → Add label → Home

    In the location card at the bottom of the screen, tap the three dots (More). Tap Add label → select Home (or Work). This sets that location as your labelled address.

On Desktop (Google Maps Website)

Go to maps.google.com. Click the three horizontal lines (menu) in the top left → Your places → Labelled → find Home → click the three dots → Edit. Enter your new address and save.

Frequently Asked Questions

Google Maps may have automatically set a home address based on your frequent location history, or a previous address was saved. If the address you entered is correct but Maps still routes to the wrong location, try deleting the home label and re-adding it — sometimes the pin is placed on a nearby point rather than exactly on your address.
You can only have one address each for Home and Work labels. For additional frequent locations, create custom labels — tap a location → Add label → type a custom name like "Parents" or "Gym". These appear as saved places you can navigate to quickly.
