How to Cancel Amazon Prime

  1. 1

    Go to your Amazon account

Sign in to amazon.com.au (Australia) or amazon.com (US). Hover over or tap Account and Lists at the top right.

  2. 2

    Go to Prime Membership

Select Prime Membership from the account menu, or go directly to amazon.com.au/mc.

  3. 3

    Click Manage Membership

On the Prime membership page, click Manage Membership on the right side.

  4. 4

    Click End Membership

Select End Membership and Benefits. Amazon will show you what you will lose β€” click Continue to Cancel.

  5. 5

    Choose when to end

Amazon gives you two options: End now and get a partial refund, or End at period end (keep benefits until next billing date). Choose based on whether you want to keep using Prime for the remainder of the period.

Refund eligibilityIf you have not used any Prime benefits since your last charge (no deliveries, no streaming), you can request a full refund. Amazon is generally good about this β€” contact customer service via chat and ask.

Cancel Prime Video Only

If you want to keep Prime shipping but cancel Prime Video, that is not directly possible β€” they are bundled. However, if you subscribed to Prime Video separately (a standalone subscription), cancel it at primevideo.com β†’ My Account β†’ Manage Prime Video Membership.

What You Lose When You Cancel

  • Free one-day and two-day delivery
  • Prime Video streaming
  • Prime Music
  • Prime Reading
  • Prime Gaming
  • Prime Day deals access

Frequently Asked Questions

If you have not used any Prime benefits since being charged, you are eligible for a full refund β€” contact Amazon customer service. If you have used benefits (watched Prime Video, received free shipping), no automatic refund is given but Amazon may offer a partial credit at their discretion. Cancelling mid-period without refund means you keep benefits until the period ends.
Amazon does not offer a pause option. Your choices are to keep the membership, cancel and re-subscribe later, or switch to a monthly plan (if on annual) to have more flexibility to cancel month by month.
